I found this spruce in 2006 and started to prepare it for collection. I cut off many unnecessary branches and fertilized the tree. Now it has grown a lot and the needles have a deep green colour, indicating very good health so I collected it. It was growing close to some big rocks and when that is the case the root system is always better than if the tree grows in pure peat soil as is the norm. I could see many active hair roots when I collected the tree. It has an excellent chance of surviving. Here are

Looks very good. Hope it will survive and be nice bonsai once. What was weather like there in Norway when you dig it? Already getting colder?
I collected in the beginning of August. It is still warm, but the nights are a little colder and we get dew in the mornings. It had been raining for almost a week when I collected the tree. That is a big advantage, because then the tree starts new root growth after the dry first part of summer. Agust is almost as warm as july, it gives the spruces time to grow some new roots before the cold weather sets in in october.
