Here you can see how I fasten the branch to a piece of deadwood to make it stick in the desired position.
All the branches was growing upwards and I need them to grow downwards so they must be bent quite a lot. I slowly tighten the guy wires to lower the branches.
Here you can see that the branches has been bent to the limit. The branches are starting to crack. I can't bend anymore on these branches now, even if I would like to lower them a bit more. I will return to this task next year when I have verified the health of the branches. It will not be a problem that the crack opened up. It will actually help the branches set in their new positions more quickly when the callus formes around it.
